Paper Topic

For my paper I've decided to take Kelly Link's Magic for Beginners and compare it to other interactive fantasy, such as fansites, fanfic, and participatory gaming, etc. Does anyone know of any good websites/fansites to search. I remember someone talking about a gaming site where people take on the roles of Terry Pratchett characters...that would also be fun to look at...so if anyone has any ideas or links, please throw them my way.

There are several video games that take place in the Discworld. I know for sure of a couple old adventure games that revolve around most of Pratchett's main characters. Sadly, these do not include any of the main characters from the one book we read.

The only main fanfiction archive I know of is fanfiction.net, but if you google for Discworld fanfiction you ought to turn up some decent hits. The thing I'd worry about it quality, as the vast majority of fanfiction in any fandom is going to be drivel. x.x

For more interactive/roleplay things, there are forum-type RPs out there, though again, I don't know Discword-specific things, but I can offer some general places to start searching for them. LiveJournal probably has some forum-based roleplaying; there might be a few play-by-email clubs out there if you google; and something like mudconnector.com might be able to hook you up with a MUD that uses the Discworld as its theme. Some of these probaby feature the main characters from some of the novels.
