Here is an interesting wikipedia article about the demon Legion I mentioned today in class in correlation to the rats' song. I vaugely remembered the biblical story, so I looked it up and it is pretty cool.

One pop-culture use of the demon Legion that Wikipedia seems to have missed is William Peter Blatty's 1983 novel Legion, his sequel to his much more famous 1971 novel The Exorcist. Blatty recently received a Life Achievement Award from the Horror Writers Association.
